It’s been pretty quiet in our neighborhood this week as if everyone is savoring the last week of summer vacation but I’ll say it was a zoo at Target on Friday with last-minute school supplies shopping. Monday marks a big change in the seasons (I don’t mean the weather because I’m told it will still be hot through September) because Monday is the first day of school.
With the first day of school, the library begins their fall calendar which means baby story time resumes and the DoSeum changes to fall hours (which we will take advantage of with all the big kids in school, more space for babies!). We went this past Tuesday and stayed for about an hour before it was time to hightail it out of there.
With the season change we are also entering another change–an severe uptick in the social calendar here at Tottering Hall.
- Saturday we are hosting a “Katrina” slash birthday party for T’s coworker Camille who is also from New Orleans
- Wednesday Cousin Chris comes in from New York City
- Friday (Labor Day Weekend) we are finding out the hard way whether the drive to New Orleans is worth replicating ever again (or just using the nonstop SWA flight)
I’ve given up getting everything on the house wish list done before the onslaught but we’ve made good progress in the past couple of weeks and most importantly you know I have already signed up a cleaning team to come in on Friday.
